- Hoping for: An active, loving family
TJ is a kid with a lot to share. A few things he’d like you to know:
Pink is his very favorite color.
Giraffes are absolutely the most amazing animals in the animal kingdom.
The Mariners, the Seahawks, and the Sounders are the greatest teams.
And he wants to find his own adoptive family.
TJ has so much to share with potential families, and he wholeheartedly jumped at the chance to help create his own profile so families could meet the ‘real’ him.
Knowing TJ means getting to experience his magnetic joy and all of the great qualities that make him the endearing, polite kid he is. Always eager to try new things, in the past he has tried out snowboarding, hip-hop dancing, and football. He found a natural fit at Linebacker in football, while also booming punts across the field. On his baseball team, he loves pitching the most. Gymnastics may be in his future (he can knock out front flips on a bed or trampoline with ease) or wrestling, which he hasn’t yet tried but wants to in future. ‘Active’ would be an understatement when it comes to TJ. A family who is interested in sports, outdoors and other fun activities would be a great fit for TJ.
He does love giraffes, but TJ is also a big fan of most animals. He really wants a pet and would be really excited if his adoptive family included dogs or cats – or both!
Currently in 5th grade, TJ does well in class. TJ is a really positive addition to his classroom and his teachers and mentors appreciate his presence. He benefits from his small classroom environment and has made noticeable progress in most of his studies. When he put his mind to it, he made progress in tougher subjects like writing and organization. His favorite subject? Science, he says. Lately, his class has been learning how batteries hold their charge and how remote control toys work.
Asked to share something TJ likes about himself, he replies: "I'm smart and talented and I can do a headstand."
Positive reinforcement and warm praise are great ways to show TJ some love. TJ is able to thrive with the right emotional support, well-structured activities, and lots of quality time. TJ needs encouragement for his education and other aspects of his life from his adoptive family. He would love to spend time with his family, not only in the great outdoors or while being active, but at home as well. TJ dreams of having a family to read books with and connect over the little things.
TJ would really like to be adopted. A family who can provide him love and support and maybe a few much older siblings would be a great match for this fun-loving kid. If you are a family who enjoys spending time together reading and experiencing new things, please reach out to us! We would love to find TJ the adoptive family he deserves.
Beyond the Profile: The smiles and positive energy TJ exudes are both authentic and infectious. Spend just a little time with him and your day is bound to be brighter. I had such a blast helping him create his own In-Depth Profile. He was truly excited to choose what to share with a prospective adoptive family, so they could begin to get to know him. He’s a kid with so many interests and strengths, it’s hardly possible to fit them all into a short video or profile. But for the parts he did want to share here, he thinks its “awesome” that families can see him doing a few things he loves – throwing a football, telling jokes, and talking about what he’s hopeful for in his future: finding his own adoptive family.
